Sebastian Vettel was rightly downbeat on the podium after driving a fantastic race from P1, keeping a charging Hamilton behind for 70 laps. Unfortunately for Ferrari and Vettel the stewards deemed an incident where he lost the car and rejoined the track to be unsafe and handed a 5 seconds time penalty.

This essentially gifted Hamilton the victory and almost gave Leclerc and net 2nd place.

We’re fans of Formula 1 itself here at Fantasy GP and simply believe that was an unfair ruling for Seb and Ferrari, but ultimately it stole a great battle for the win from us and the millions of fans tuning in.

Putting this latest debacle to one side, it was a decent race in Montreal and saw some great drives and a few impressive overtakes. Lance Stroll was the Fantasy GP driver of the day with a massive 24 bonus points for his slow and steady strategy giving him solid P9 at the chequered flag, great news for Jordan, Force India, Racing Point.

Congrats to Henrique Bombonato and their team, “Bona F1” who claimed P1 in the PRO Championship and will receive the official Fantasy GP Trophy for Canada.
