Results are in for Canada

Date published: 18th June 2023

While Verstappen didn’t run away with it in Montreal, it was another dominant victory for the Dutchman. The rain stayed away and made it a reasonably straightforward race on Sunday, with Alonso nursing brake issues to finish second ahead of Hamilton in third. While there was lots of midfield tussling and tangles at the back, it was far from a classic in Canada. However, plaudits must go to the driver of the day, Albon, that held off a train to hold onto 7th on very worn tires.

In Fantasy GP terms, Verstappen easily secured Saturday’s pole, despite the tricky conditions. Sunday’s race delivered a podium of Verstappen, Alonso and Hamilton, with Perez stealing the fastest lap with a late pitstop. We also asked where Perez would finish in Sunday’s race for this weekend’s bonus question, and the answer was C (6th or worse), which will not help the fading star of his campaign. There were two safety cars, a VSC incident, later followed by a separate, full SC period.

Leclerc topped the bonus points stakes with 17, with honourable mentions to Tsunoda and Bottas, with 15 and 13, respectively.

Below is a full breakdown of the points in Canada (with a sneaky preview of some of the statistics you get to see as a Pro or Pro Elite player). We will return in two weeks when we see you at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
