After a stunning qualifying lap, Lewis Hamilton grabbed 1st place for the Sprint Qualifying, but was overtaken by Max Verstappen off the line in Saturday’s Sprint. Come Sunday, with Perez starting last, Verstappen started P1 with the Mercedes duo immediately behind him.

The main Grand Prix started in much the same fashion as the Sprint with Hamilton chasing down Verstappen and the pair coming wheel to wheel on every corner. Come the second half of the lap, the two came together and this saw Verstappen flying off the track in a scary fashion with Leclerc taking the opportunity to steal the lead before the Safety Car came out before the race was red flagged with repairs needed for the barriers after Verstappen’s high speed impact. Thankfully the Dutchman got out of the car unscathed.

Following the restart, Leclerc maintained the lead, right through to the final few laps where Hamilton pressured him to make a mistake and steal victory, completing his recovery drive after a 10s penalty for his move on Verstappen.

In Fantasy GP terms, the Fastest Lap went to Perez, we had a podium of HAM, LEC and BOT and of course Max Verstappen had Pole Position. There was just 1 Safety Car period following the HAM/VER incident and for the Bonus Prediction for the highest placed Aston Martin, with Stroll finishing P8 the correct answer was a)Top 9.

Looking at the bonus points, Stroll and Tsunoda bagged a nice 18pts each whilst Sainz and Perez bagged 12pts each too.
