Baku gave us a race that may have not lived up to the hype of being a chaotic classic, but it did deliver an entertaining couple of hours that saw the renewed, re-energised Bottas take victory and lead from start to finish, ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
Behind the Silver Arrows, Ferrari had speed at times, but couldn’t do anything but watch the rear wings of the Mercedes. Leclerc had a good recovery to 5th, while Vettel took the final step of the podium. Max Verstappen continued Red Bull’s form with a solid 4th.
It was another bad day for Ricciardo, yet another DNF, along with Grosjean (brake issue), Kvyat (lock up/mistake), Gasly (mechanical issue). Ricciardo also managed to reverse into Kvyat when the two ran wide. Oh dear. Embarrassment on top of disappointment for the Aussie.
Force India had a good showing, as did McLaren and Force India. Toro Rosso’s Albon had a great race too, but finished P11 with zero race points.
But hey, this is Fantasy GP and there were some big points out there, especially for Kimi Raikkonen who gained 9 places over the course of the race, giving him 27 bonus points. Giovinazzi and Stroll also did well with Bonus Points, scoring 15 and 12 respectively.
Leclerc got the Fastest Lap and a bonus point for that to go with another 9 for gaining 3 places over the course of the race.
The PRO winner for Azerbaijan was Raphael Ravenscroft with a whopping 200 points and he bags the Official Fantasy GP Trophy along with some BoxBoxBoxCo merchandise, well done!
Full driver and car points are shown below and you can check your own points, leagues and rankings now. The next race is in 2 weeks.
The game will remain locked until 2pm Monday BST for driver and car price reviewing.
