So, we are really being treated in 2022, aren’t we? These first two races have provided a fantastic showcase of the new regulations and another titanic chess-like battle between Verstappen and Leclerc.
Verstappen takes the win this time to start to repair the damage caused by his late retirement in Bahrain. Perez will be heartbroken to finish outside the podium positions after seemingly being bluffed into the pits by Ferrari followed by bad luck under the first VSC. Pastor Maldonado remains the only driver to convert his maiden pole.
The table below shows the full rundown of driver and cars points from the second race where we had the podium of Verstappen, Leclerc and Sainz. Saturday saw Perez take a surprise Pole Position. Leclerc got the fastest lap and we had 2 safety car periods. 6cars retired meaning that the answer to the bonus question was C. For the purposes of the game, Schumacher and Tsunoda are included in the list of retirements, as their cars were considered to be retired during the race weekend following Saturday’s qualifying crash for the Haas driver and Tsunoda’s failure to make it to the grid on Sunday.
Reminder – all changes from now on will count towards your quota and, following those being used, you will incur penalty points as per the game guide. Price changes will also occur before the game is unlocked.
We will re-open up by midday on Monday for team changes and predictions for the next race in a fortnight’s time in wonderful Melbourne, Australia. See you on the grid!
