Verstappen WINS the Mexico GP
30th October 2022
Goodness, that was very dull in Mexico. Highlights might have been Ricciardo’s amateur-hour shunt into Tsunoda, which then woke him into life, driving the wheels off his McLaren to negate a 10-second penalty and secure 7th. Verstappen controlled affairs from start to finish, with the early pressure from Mercedes being wrecked by their decision to swicth to the slower, hard compound tyre. Perez got on the podium, which made the home crowd happy. Seriously, there is little more to offer you here.
In Fantasy GP terms, Verstappen took a competitive Pole on Saturday, and we had the podium of Vertsappen, Hamilton and Perez. There was 1 safety car period following Alonso’s retirement and Russell stole the fastest lap right at the death. For the bonus prediction, we asked you which of the Alpine’s would finish in the top two, with the answer being B (with Ocon the sole Alpine finisher in 8th). Albon and Stroll shared the most bonus points with 15 apiece.
We are back in a fortnight for the Brazilian GP in Interlagos. We’ll see you all then and, if you struggle to sleep tonight, stick on the highlights…. you’re welcome!
