Hamilton edges closer to the title with Russian Grand Prix victory

Results for the Russian Grand Prix are in - find out how you did, now!

What a cracker of a race in Sochi. The Russian GP gave us a lot of controversy with again Leclerc feeling like everything was against him with helping Vettel to get Ferrari ahead of Mercedes and then Vettel running off in P1 and not giving the place back. It’s understood there was a pre-race agreement, but it was looking like a multi-21 incident brewing, until Vettel retired with an engine issue.

Hamilton was super chuffed to take the race win and give Mercedes another 1-2 while Leclerc had to settle for P3. Red Bull had a great recovery drive, McLaren scored yet more solid points. Alfa and Toro Rosso had a dismal afternoon, but not as bad as Williams who had a double DNF. Magnussen scored some much needed points for Haas while Grosjean retired on lap 1 after causing a safety car in an incident with Ricciardo and Giovinazzi. Ricciardo retired later as a result leaving Hulkenberg to pick up just 1 point for Renault.

In Fantasy GP terms, Pole Position was of course Leclerc and the podium was HAM, BOT and LEC. HAM grabbed the Fastest Lap and we had 3 Safety Car periods. For the Bonus Prediction we asked how many points will Haas score – with Grosjean out and Magnussen in P9 after a time penality they came home with a total of 2 points, so the answer was 1 or 2 points.

Congrats to Paul and his team “Paul’s Polestars”, winner of the Russian GP in the PRO Championship, your trophy is on it’s way to you!
