We have a non-RBR winner in 2023. Soak this up. We have a non-RBR winner in 2023! A magnificent run is ended by Carlos Sainz, who played chess all afternoon while those around him played draughts. It looked nearly impossible with the Mercedes pair chasing down Norris and Sainz on fresh mediums, but the Spanish star dropping the McLaren into DRS zones at strategic points was enough to deliver a mighty victory.

Not that Ferrari can celebrate a perfect weekend, with Leclerc being wrecked by that first safety car incident. One fantastic race that slowly burned into an absolute classic. Verstappen did a strong recovery drive to finish 5th, while Lawson should be applauded for his first F1 points in 9th!

In Fantasy GP terms, Sainz secured a commanding second pole in a row on Saturday. The podium on Sunday consisted of Sainz, Norris and Hamilton, with Hamilton also grabbing the fastest lap award. We also asked about the time difference between 1st and 2nd at the finish, with the answer being A (less than 5 seconds). There were two safety car incidents. One was a full SC to pick up the debris from Sargeant’s tangle with the wall, and the second was a VCS to retrieve Ocon’s stranded car!

We had some memorable bonus point hauls. Piastri took the biggest with 20, with Zhou (19), Verstappen (17) and Gasly (17) all doing well too!

That’s us done for now – we need a drink after that! We’ll be unlocking the game before midday on Monday, as we are back in a week in Sukuka for the Japanese GP.
