A rather wet Spa weekend, find out how you did in the Fantasy GP of Belgium.
Date published: 27th July 2025
The Spa weekend of dreams for all motorsport fans – a far cry from cucumbers on your eyes and soothing sounds of ocean waves – oh no, this is more rolling hills of Belgium with the roar of cars doing 200+ around corners that take your breath away, it’s our perfect idea of a Spa break.
Ok, sorry – let’s get down to points – so we had a Sprint weekend – Piastri blew us away with a dominant Sprint Pole, but was beaten fair and square by Max Verstappen who took the glory of a the sprint win. Not a lot else happened. Gasly DNF’d, that was about it.
For the Grand Prix, it was a case of waiting, waiting, waiting, for the rain to lessen and when it did we saw Piastri take P1 from Norris and stay there to the end. Norris did well but didn’t have enough to fight back. We had plenty of battles up and down the field, but the highlight has to be Hamilton’s recovery from starting in the pit lane and finishing P7 with an inspired early switch to dry tyres.
In Fantasy GP terms we had the podium of Piastri, Norris and Leclerc with Antonelli taking Fastest Lap. We had a total of 1 Safety Car period (for lots of laps at the start) and of course Lando Norris had Pole Position. For the bonus prediction around Nico Hülkenberg, he finished in P12, so the correct option was b) 11th – 14th, .
