It wouldn’t have been a fitting end to 2023 without a mundane but absurdly dominant drive from Max Verstappen to end a season where he (and his car) were head and shoulders ahead of everyone else. While a big congratulations go out to him and Red Bull, I imagine most F1 fans are hoping that others can close the gap for 2024.

Elsewhere, Mercedes pipped Ferrari to 2nd in the constructors’ standings, with the latter doing a strange but entirely predictable, race strategy with Sainz, which confused everyone (he was ultimately marked as “retired” and therefore scored no race points in FGP). Also, a 42-year-old Alonso claimed 4th in the drivers’ championship, a remarkable feat!

In Fantasy GP terms, the podium comprised Verstappen, Leclerc and Russell, with Verstappen taking an unsurprising pole on Saturday along with the accolade of fastest lap. There were no safety car periods, and, for bonus questions, the answer was A (Tsunoda).
