Results are in for Belgium

The Belgian Grand Prix weekend gave us a thrilling wet/dry qualifying, a damp Sprint Shootout and Sprint race and then a decent Grand Prix on Sunday and another dominant performance from Verstappen leading home a Red Bull 1-2 finish.

In Fantasy GP terms, Max Verstappen won qualifying again, so he gets the Pole Position bonus, but a penalty dropped him to P6 for the start. We had a Podium of Verstappen, Perez and Leclerc. The Fastest Lap was taken by Hamilton on the final lap to steal an extra point. As for Safety Car periods, we had a total of 0, not even a snifter, which unusual for Spa. For the bonus question, the correct option was B) 4-6 places gained, Ocon being the most with an improvement of 6 places to finish P8.

Being a Sprint Weekend, there are points for the Grand Prix and the Sprint, which are combined, but you can see the breakdown between the 2 events below.

A note regarding Pole Position: The majority of players (~75%) correctly predicted Max Verstappen’s Pole Position. In previous seasons, Fantasy GP took whoever was in P1 on the grid for the Pole Position points and bonus, but for 2023 and onwards, the Pole Position points and bonus are issued to the driver who actually wins the Pole Position during Qualifying (i.e. wins the Pole Position award) – this was a result of our annual survey and was one of the most requested changes for the game. We’re sorry for those who missed this change, it was publicised and is in the Game Guide as well as being mentioned on social media too.
